Chocolate Pies

Our intern, Bowen, from Thomas University taught a cooking lesson today. We got to make chocolate pies. The recipe was sent home in their folders. This is their lucky week because we are making pumpkin pies on Friday!! :)

Clown Fire Safety Program

Here are some pictures from our Fire Safety Program today! They talked to students about wearing their seat belts, when to call 911, never to play with matches or lighters, and what to do if there is a fire in their home. They used the acronym, EDITH, which stands for, Exit Drill in the home. They told kids to talk to their parents about what they need to do if the smoke detector goes off in the home. They said to crawl to the door, put back of hand up to the door to see if it is hot. If the door is hot, then go to the window to exit. Then go to the designated meeting place (this is a spot that is chosen by the family). They also told kids to make sure their parents test our their smoke alarms. If you do not have a smoke alarm, the fire deptment will put one in your home for FREE!

New Dress Up Clothes

Monthly, we change out some of the dress up clothes. We added a Tweety Bird and Sylvester costume for this month. They loved it! These costumes, were actually my brother and mine when we were little! :)
